When do you quit?

Sure persistence is a good thing. How can you ever suceed if you don't try.
But when do you know it is time to stop trying? Is there a time when there is just no use anymore? What does it take to realize this?
You would think I would learn by now, everytime I am up I get bashed down. Sure maybe not intentionally, or maybe so, I don't know.
At times I am fed up, pushed to the background, ignored, forgotten, looked down upon. I try, I really try. But there is a point when I will give up, I will understand I am not wanted, or too impatient to keep going. Things move on, time goes on, people move on, life goes on.
I really hate change.
It really is frustrating at the end of the day when you feel like you have accomplished nothing and lost everything. Trying to work with ignorant horses is a big one, maybe I just need to work on my patience, but sometimes they really do not help my day.

.... it is funny how one little comment can bring through a wave of emotions. I really wonder where those emotions come from, because I sure didn't see them coming until they did, more than once too. You think I would of learned.

I like to hide my emotions. Call me chicken I don't care.

Goodnight

Completly exhausted

That is what I am right now.
This week is only half over and I swear I might fall over from exhaustion.
So Monday I spent pretty much all day training for my new position at work. Got home went straight to the barn cleaned all 7 stalls, brushed all 4 horses and rode 3 of them. That took me until 9:30 when I got home got in the shower went on the computer to send some newly taken pictures to potential buyers and then climbed into bed by 10:30. So at least I got a half decently long sleep.
So Tuesday was another day of training that consisted of more work that hurt my brain. I was driving home and I got a call from a boarder telling me her vet results from her horse who is lame, she then asked me what happend to my divider fence. I had no idea what she was talking about as it was fine this morning. So I rushed over to the farm only to find a metal portable panal completley managled. I have no clue what happend to it. I mean the metal was literaly ripped apart, not even a horse could do that. So I needed to come up with a solution fast because I could not put the horse back in that paddock. And I also had a dead lame horse on my hands who also needed a private paddock to rest. So after lots of running around, confusion, hammering, pulling, pushing, yelling, and stress I managed to move two horses to the new barn with seperate runs. So yet again I did not get inside before dark.
Today was filled with more training. Honestly I feel like my head is going to explode. Tonight I have precon and not surprisingly I am not prepared for that either.
I need a time out or a vacation.

On a happier note, I have a lady coming to look at Emma on Thursday. I am keeping my fingers crossed for that one. My father is trying to arrange to have my TB in our upcoming school auction. There is a long weekend next weekend (keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather, haha).
I expect weeks like this though. Things can't always work out according to my schedule so I just take them as they come.

Patience is a virtue.

Oh boy oh boy

So the renovations on my new barn at coming along nicely.
After doing a bargain hunt on Saturday my brother and I picked up 43 portable fence panels for the round ring and stall turn outs.
We starting with assembling the round pen first. In the end it took both my brothers, my father, my boyfriend and myself to put it up.
Lets just say making a circle is not as easy as we hoped.

My mare Dreamer seems to be only getting worse. This morning I took her out of her stall and she acted liked her legs were stiff as boards. Founder/laminitis still doesn't seem like the problem. The best solution would be to get a vet out. Now I just need to find a decently priced one.

So my thoughts this weekend have been concentrated on the future. I am not sure why it has become of my concern because I am usually the one to let things go with the flow. Maybe it is because I have so much to look foward too.
Although it is interested how much things change, even if it doesn't look like it, or you try to stop it.
Change is inevitable, maybe for the better? I guess we will find out.

Horray for Friday

Sometimes I find myself wishing I had a relatively generic life. Work 8-5, 5 days a week, go home, dinner then socialize. Then I think to myself how incredibly bored I would be and how lucky I am that I have an extra curricular activity and an expensive hobby (as time consuming and expensive it may be).
Then I have to kick myself for even thinking like that. I mean I already get bored at work when I have nothing to do (which tend to be often) imagine what it would be like at home

Honestly I really wouldn't change anything right now.
Having a perfect life is not possible.... on this earth.
Being content and happy with what you have is the key.

So I am the proud owner and operater of Double K Stables. It all began back in August 2007 when a barn was renovated and revamped to accomodate horses. I got my first boarder (who is still with me) and from there things got busier and busier.
The only difficulty with having the facilites I tend to accumulate my own horses.
As of right now I own 3 1/2 horses. All with completley different personalities and all will be hard to part with when the time comes.
